Good News: Damien Hirst's Museum to Open in London
Damien Hirst's first museum like gallery, which is devoted to display his personal art collection is expected to open in spring!
Following the footsteps of Saatchi, he will display and curate his own collection, which includes more than 2,000 pieces including his own works and others, Banksy, Jeff Koons, and unique paintings by the late Francis Bacon.
The upcoming gallery in Newport Street, Vauxhall, will include six galleries and a cafe. The gallery - designed by architects Caruso St John - will take up the whole of Newport Street and incorporates three listed buildings flanked by two new buildings.
It will be "a place to show my collection of contemporary art". "It's my Saatchi gallery, basically," he said to Observer.
Londoners look forward to it!
